那时候Dan Gibson的公司，就以擅长捕捉自然界的声音而着名，他们製作的自然电影，音画同步，在那时可是一个创举。进入80年代他更是发明了丹·吉布森抛物线定点收音麦克风（Dan Gibson Parabolic Microphone），以便更清晰的捕获自然界中独特的声响。

于是，1983年，以 Dan Gibson至爱的歌曲，艾灵顿公爵的In My Solitude（我的孤独）命名，专注于自然声响的Solitudes公司成立了。这之后，Dan Gibson的南征北伐，Solitudes公司诞生了无数自然音乐经典，那些採集自人迹罕至的海角天涯的自然声响，配上Ron Allen、Howard Baer、Claude Desjardins等音乐人空灵舒缓的音乐，带着我们回到那个纯净的古老的地球。

社会越来越快，我们无时不被压力与焦虑所包围，我们如何能拥有宁静的片刻？

几十年来，这个老人的努力和执着，用自然之声带来心灵的慰藉。而他也因为常年穿梭于丛林于荒漠导致膝盖致残，1994年，72岁的Dan Gibson成为“加拿大杰出公民”，他拄着柺杖出现在人们面前，那些美好的音乐对比艰辛的旅程，让人感慨无比。

2004年Dan Gibson推出了自己的第一张DVD，名叫《Natural Beauty》（自然魅力）。

遗憾的是，2006年3月18日，Dan Gibson老先生与世长辞。但是他的公司会由他的儿子继续传承下去。
