Bang Gang的前身是由Bardi Johannsson和朋友Henrik Baldvin Bjornsson两人组成，并且是一个标準的Surf-band，在1996年推出的第一张EP《Listen Baby》为他们带来了最初的声誉，同时也宣告两人的合作关係就此结束。后来Bardi找来了一个来自冰岛的女声Esther Talia Casey，组成了一个新乐队并且为此命名为“Bang Gang"。
