创作背景

numb encore

　　在歌曲合作之前，林肯公园乐队主唱之一的麦克·信田便有过将Jay Z专辑《Reasonable Doubt》的歌曲与碎南瓜乐队和九寸钉乐队的作品混音的尝试。在信田着手于这一项目时，说唱歌手Jay Z也听完针垂学端了Danger Mouse的《这离只句肉和温套Grey Album》（Jay Z专辑《The Black Album》和披头士乐队专辑《White Album》的混合）以及Che考粉重感ap Cologne的《Double Black Album》来自（《The Black A云统菜编边校lbum》和Metallica的《Black Albu斯完茶m》的混合）。Jay Z联系到了林肯公园，与其讨论类似方案的可实施性。在达成合作意向之后，他们为2004年7月360百科在洛杉矶合作举办的“MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups”演唱会创作了一些混音歌曲，其中就包括了这因检督容首将林肯公园的《Numb》和力并图础章代食欢英学Jay Z的《Encore》混合的歌曲。

　　来自《Numb/Encore》将酒室住Jay Z的谢幕曲与林肯公园的代表歌曲结合。两组无论是在曲风或其它方面都有所不同的艺人都保持了他们传统说唱/新金属摇滚和说唱的个人风格，同时又巧妙地将各自的风格融合在一起。林肯公园乐队带有愤怒情绪及略显阴沉的歌词与Jay Z的硬式音乐相得益彰。而更为惊喜的则是坎耶·维斯特在歌曲中的和声。
